Hey my fashionistas and welcome back to another fashion Friday. Today I am talking about the modelling career of Adriana Lima. Enjoy :)

Background information

Born 12 June 1981 in Brazil, Adriana never really wanted to be a model; she dreamed of being a Nun or a paediatrician.

How it started

One day her friend from school wanted to enter a modelling competition but didn’t want to do it alone, so they both sent photos. And at age 15, she finished first place in Ford's "Supermodel of Brazil" modelling search. In 1996, she entered Ford models Supermodel of the World and she finished second place. Then in 1997, she signed with an Elite model management and moved to New York. That same year, Adriana walked the runway at Anna Suis New York fashion week which made her runway debut and led her to walked for many designers after. In 1999, she joined Victoria Secret and then signed as a main angel in 2000. (She then went on to become the longest serving angel). Then came her first Vogue cover in September 2000: the Italian Vogue Gioiello and then 20th anniversary Brazil vogue.

Maybelline

In 2003, Adriana Lima signed with Maybelline and did many campaigns, commercials and billboards. It ended in 2009 but in 2014 Maybelline re-signed Adriana to serve as the global ambassador.

Victoria Secret

Adriana Lima wore the iconic and multimillion fantasy bra 3 times: 2008, 2010 and 2014! Like many other brands, Adriana Lima has done campaigns, and the 2008 Super Bowl was one of them. After 19 appearances Adriana left Victoria Secret in 2018 at the Victoria secret fashion show. In 2014 Adriana came back and walked at the Victoria Secret fashion show and the same in 2025.

And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed and I apologise for not posting last week, it might be like that sometimes as I have a lot of test and revision to do. Make sure you follow my Pinterest flos_fashion_xoxo and I will hopefully see you next week bye!!
