Broadland Sands Caravan Park by Park Holidays
We did a Friday to Monday here, and there were 7 of us in a gold 3 berth caravan.
Broadland Sands is located in Corton near Lowestoft, Suffolk.
I had been here before in 2022, and thought I would take the kids again, but this time with Alex, her husband, and their 2 kids.
At first glance the park is clean and tidy, it has a good sized club house with a stage and seating area. Staff are friendly and they checked in with us on the Saturday to make sure everything was going well. The caravan we stayed in was meant to be a gold caravan but it seemed a little small compared to the photos online, but it was clean and tidy with modern decor so we didn’t complain.
As the kids are all over 11, we knew we wouldn’t be using the clubhouse much, as that is aimed more for the younger children, but we did eat in the bar on the first night.
The food is ok; typical pub grub. The kids had pizzas which were cooked in a real pizza oven and for £15 for a 11" pizza, it wasn’t too badly priced and they were tasty!
Saturday – a nice, chilled day. I took the younger 2 to the pool, again nice, clean pool although the water was on the cooler side. It had a water slide in the complex, which my youngest had lots of fun going down time and time again. We were given 45 mins in the pool as it was very popular, but it was very well looked after, with 4 lifeguards on duty at all times.
Sunday - the 2 younger ones wanted to check out the K-pop energy hunters’ activity but when we got there, they found it was a little too kiddish for them. So, we chose to get a 4-person buggy and have fun driving round the park, that was fun but boi was it a workout for the legs.
We headed into Corton to the White horse pub
for lunch. Looking at the menu, we thought it was cheap for a Sunday roast, with the trimmings at £13.50, and we thought it might be a small roast but we were wrong. I asked for some crackling with mine and then pieces that came out were about a foot long and they were lush. My kids don’t like roast dinners (not sure what’s wrong with them lol) so they had spaghetti and meatballs and they looked lush too.
We chose to have a go at the mini dino golf too, it was £18 for 5 of us which isn’t too bad for a caravan park. It was fun and I may have gotten a bit burnt in the sun, but it was worth it for the laugh. The mini golf could do with a little attention as there was some broken wooden sides but overall, it was a clean course.
If you after some day trips from the park there is Pleasurewood Hills, Africa Alive, Lowestoft beach all within a short drive. There are a few food shops just down the road too. We found a nice Chinese takeaway less than 10 mins away called Evergreen.
Overall, it’s a nice park and I would take the kids again. It’s somewhere you could easily spend a week if you wanted to do day trips around the area, but for 3 nights to chill out and let the kids run off some steam it was just what was needed.
