Merry meet!

Today I want to talk to you about Mabon.

Mabon is a modern neopagan and Wiccan holiday that marks the Autumn Equinox, usually falling around September 21–24. It is one of the eight Wiccan sabbats celebrated during the year.

This year, it is celebrated on Weds 23rd September and is all about the second harvest, and taking pause to give thanks for what you've grown and gathered through the year.

It's a perfect time for reflection on how you have grown personally in life and being thankful for things that may have happened, good or bad, and think about how they have shaped you.

It's a lovely time to gather family for an autumnal feast of squash and berries and to settle down ready for those colder winter months ahead - a good excuse to get cosy, comfy and eat warming hearty foods and indulge in a hot chocolate (or a hot toddy if you fancy!)

A simple way to note the day is to go for a nature walk and take in the changing season, noting the leaves changing to golden browns, gather berries and acorns etc, then head home to light a simple candle, open a window to let in the crisp autumn air and just pause for a moment.

Pinecones, acorns, fallen leaves and apples are symbols of the autumn and work well on an altar if you are looking to change the layout of yours, and can be collected on your nature walk!

However you choose to mark the day, remember to always be kind to yourself and others and spread joy in all you do.

Blessed be!
