My SEND Mummy

I can't hear you,

There are too many sounds,

Life is too much,

When you're not around.

My mind is swirling,

With information unknown,

I don't understand,

Then tantrums are thrown.

Who is it? I ask,

What do you want?

I can't read those letters,

They're in the wrong font.

Be quiet, be quiet,

Is the next thing I hear,

But I can't be quiet,

My attention's not here.

It's at home with mum,

She's now going out,

I cannot understand,

When she's not about.

But she needs a break,

From me, I think.

Her life's been on hold,

She can't even blink.

I don't know what to do,

To make her understand,

That she is my safe place,

When I'm holding her hand.

I think she wants me,

I really don't know,

But I love her so much and

She always comes home.

I may think different,

And act a certain way,

But my mummy understands me,

In every single way.

She is my heart,

She is my home,

When she's by my side,

I'll never be alone.
